The Guide 6 offers a redesigned upper, sporting new overlays, and a redesigned, segmented front crash pad. The Cortana 2 offers a lighter weight upper with overlays removed.
Look like an Olympian (and maybe even feel like one) with the Nike Flyknit Trainers, now available in both stores. The lightweight trainer features Nike’s new favorite lightweight upper material, flywire. Introduced at the Olympic trials, and sported by all US track athletes on the medal stands in London, this trainer has a light, springy feel and a contoured fit for racing or training.

I was young and naïve when I first met the Pegasus – just a beginning runner who had not yet experienced the tribulations of speed intervals, tempo runs, and trash talk. Through trial and error I discovered that a decent shoe would help me run injury-free. The Pegasus, with its wide toe-box and bountiful cushioning felt like firm pillows on my feet. I was attracted almost instantaneously.

According to Nike this draw makes me an every-day runner (with a fairly neutral stride and normal arches) – one of thousands of runners with similar feet who lace their Pegasus every day.

The leading shoe supplier offers fancy terms like ‘gender-specific crash pad’, ‘Nike+sensor’ and ‘flexible Phylon’ to describe what many of us intuitively know: this shoe just feels good. It’s been around – amazingly – for 28 years

Fast forward a decade (or quite a bit more) and I’m still wearing the Pegasus on my daily training runs. It has been a faithful friend having run with me through pregnancies, babies in the NICU, heartfelt long run talks, cross country meets, trips up Pikes Peak and through the general rolling terrain of life. Unlike some running buddies, my Pegs are never late for a run. And unlike some family members, they never talk back.

After all these years, we still go together. The love affair continues.

Some people call them "clown shoes". Other people call them "the last running shoes I'll ever wear". Wanna know more about Hoka OneOne's enigmatic shoes? Find out all you ever wanted to know and more.

What happens when two enterprising frenchmen with an idea to make a better downhill trail running experience put their heads together? The Hoka Hubble, a whole new kind of running shoe, is born.

Hubble technology, the relatively massive cushioning Hoka OneOne shoes employ, is sort of the “anti-minimalist” approach to running shoes. In today’s world of Vibram Five Fingers and New Balance Minimus, Hoka OneOne’s (or as most call them, just “Hoka’s”) offerings can look somewhat strange to the uninitiated. Designed to provide maximum amount of shock absorption and the most smooth, comfortable ride possible even on rough terrain, steep downhills or grueling uphill climbs. One thing’s for certain: the Hoka is a shoe unlike anything else you’ve worn.

If you’re interested in knowing more about these remarkable shoes, read on.

Using thicker, softer EVA foam, Hoka’s create a “weight reduction” effect that reduces stress on joints, muscles, and bones. They enable you to use your entire body to run, rather than concentrating all pressure onto singular pressure points.

Yes, as in “light”. Hoka’s are among the lightest trail running shoes you’ll ever wear, weighing in at just under 12oz’s (men’s 8.5)

Stability50% more sole surface area, 35% more lugs, and a midsole that cuddles your recessed foot into a stable, confidence-boosting ride. (Did we mention they’re light?)

So those are the details, but reading about the Hoka’s can only tell you so much. Come try a pair on at The Colorado Running Company’s Tejon location.

Saucony’s most minimal and lightweight shoe ever, the Hattori is literally an extension of your foot. Unlike other very minimal shoes, the Hattori’s mitten-like toe box gives your toes room to naturally arch, grip and push off. To further leverage natural toe movement, the sole features a visible flex groove in back of the toes and in front of the metatarsals. The sculpted foam of the sole also includes strategically placed impact cushioning and delivers a slight piston effect without ever compromising natural motion.

Available now at The Colorado Running Company.
