Looks fast, feels fast

Look like an Olympian (and maybe even feel like one) with the Nike Flyknit Trainers, now available in both stores. The lightweight trainer features Nike’s new favorite lightweight upper material, flywire. Introduced at the Olympic trials, and sported by all US track athletes on the medal stands in London, this trainer has a light, springy feel and a contoured fit for racing or training.

According to Nike this draw makes me an every-day runner (with a fairly neutral stride and normal arches) – one of thousands of runners with similar feet who lace their Pegasus every day.

The leading shoe supplier offers fancy terms like ‘gender-specific crash pad’, ‘Nike+sensor’ and ‘flexible Phylon’ to describe what many of us intuitively know: this shoe just feels good. It’s been around – amazingly – for 28 years

Fast forward a decade (or quite a bit more) and I’m still wearing the Pegasus on my daily training runs. It has been a faithful friend having run with me through pregnancies, babies in the NICU, heartfelt long run talks, cross country meets, trips up Pikes Peak and through the general rolling terrain of life. Unlike some running buddies, my Pegs are never late for a run. And unlike some family members, they never talk back.

After all these years, we still go together. The love affair continues.
